Biographical Sketch:
Shabbir Ahmed is a chemical engineer and leads the Fuel Cell Engineering group at Argonne National Laboratory. Most of his work has been in the field of fuel processing for fuel cells, involving the production of hydrogen for automotive fuel processors, hydrogen production pathways for distributed production, and for residential fuel cell systems. His publications have addressed conversion of various petroleum-derived fuels and alcohols to hydrogen using autothermal and steam reforming processes, novel catalysts, and integrated fuel processors. He is a coordinating member of DOE’s hydrogen quality working group.
Papers:
Autothermal reforming of natural gas for distributed power generation: A segmented catalyst reactor concept to improve catalyst durability
Development of Novel Sampling Devices for Analysis of Impurities in Hydrogen at Refueling Stations for Fuel Cell Vehicles
