American Bureau of Shipping has discussed the application of Fuel Cell Technology for shipboard systems on several proposals for emergency power systems, in port operations, ship's service power and limited propulsion power requirements. ABS has been developing a draft set of Technical Requirements that clearly address the unique aspects of using fuel cells on ships.
