Data Analysis of DaimlerChrysler's worldwide Fuel Cell Passenger Car Fleet

Klaus Bonhoff, DaimlerChrysler

DaimlerChrysler's passenger car fleet of fuel cell vehicles (F-Cell) is an ongoing, worldwide operation which has accumulated more than 600,000 miles in California, Michigan, Berlin, Stuttgart, Tokyo and Singapore.

The F-Cell fleet, which is also the world's largest, is equipped with a Data Acquisition System that wirelessly collects and transmits data from each vehicle to central file servers located at DaimlerChrysler's central engineering center.

Results from the data analysis will be presented to demonstrate the F-Cell operation and performance under real world conditions throughout the world.

In addition to data analysis, criteria for a successful market introduction will be presented to show the need for government/industry collaboration, regional 70 MPa Hydrogen networks, as well as established codes and standards.
